MARGARET MITCHELL HOUSE

This is the home of author Margaret Mitchell, who lived in Atlanta while writing her Pultizer prize-winning novel, Gone with the Wind.  The tour contains exclusive photographs and exhibits that tell the Margaret Mitchell life story.  It starts with some of her girlhood writings then takes you through the house, into her tiny apartment where she wrote most of the book, and then finally to the Gone with the Wind Movie Museum, which is totally devoted to the 1939 film based on the book.  Included are original objects from the movie, correspondence, and artifacts such as the legendary doorway to Tara.
