The Carter Presidential Center
The Carter Center is made up of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, the museum, the nondenominational Cecil B. Day Chapel, conference facilities, staff offices, and it all sits on the enchanting gardens of the Carter Center. The Center works to alleviate human suffering and to protect human rights; it seeks to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhance freedom and democracy and improve health both here and in other countries. Within the Library and the museum there are photographs and historical memorabilia from Carter's presidency, (1976-1981) an exact replica of his Oval Office, and it is also the permanent home of the former president's Nobel Peace Prize.
